Favorites of 2008 | Getting Ready

Moving right along with the 2008 favorites! (Actually…haha…I’m writing most of these the same night and having them set to post over the next few days haha;-)but anyway…)

I think before the ceremony might be one of my favorite parts of the day. Because for the most part, I just get to sit back and capture the excitement, nervousness, last minute details, and all the emotion that goes along with it. I love portrait time with the bride and groom, but the pre-ceremony excitement is super fun for me as a photographer to really push my creativity and work out different angles, lighting, and all that geeky stuff haha. It’s also fun to see how different each bride and groom (and wedding party, family, etc…) handles the wedding day. Personally, I think someone must have slipped me something on my wedding day, because I was pretty much un-characteristically calm haha! It was super hard to pick favorites for this category, but here we go…

First we have Megan being helped into her dress by her bridesmaids. I love the feel of this picture! Although it may have been a coincidence, I loved the gold/yellow curtains in the getting ready room and how they complimented the color scheme of the whole wedding! Putting a little bit of extra thought into where you get ready and how it looks really can make a tremendous difference in the photos, and work especially well for the album!

Next we have Hannah. I just cannot get over how classically beautiful Hannah is here! Even though things were pretty hectic at this point, I love the calm and graceful look she has. Her flower was an awesome, contemporary touch that really set off her whole look for the day! Love it.

And last for today…Charla! I loooooooove the look of joy on her face here! I believe her hairdresser was pretending the tissue paper was the veil haha. This one photo pretty much summed up the morning for me for this wedding! Everyone was so excited and just so wonderful:)I love the colors too, the hair salon had several brightly colored rooms that I was just obsessed with! Super fun.
