Jeremy is a senior at Ravenwood High School, where he plays football and is just generally awesome He’s looking into several great schools for college: UK, UT (Go Vols!), and WKU (my alma mater!), so you know he’s a cool kid!

Quick story about this session. We went to one of Jeremy’s friend’s houses in search of a barn to take pictures in. Well, we get there, Jeremy climbs on the four wheeler, and says “Ok, I think I can fit you all on here, we have to ride to get there.” *Insert “No way, no how” face here* After some deliberation, we finally decided Chris, Jeremy, and I would ride back, while Jeremy’s lovely mom Lindsey stayed behind. I just have to say that I KNEW we were going to flip over. I do not do four wheelers haha. But, we made it safely, found out the barn was torn down, and got some sweet shots anyway (including one incriminating photo of me climbing on the four wheeler, which will never see the light of day if I have anything to say about it ).

So, we definitely had a GREAT time during this session! Here are some favorites!

Misty and I met our freshman year of college. We were in the same University Experience (aka biggest waste of an 8am Tuesday/Thursday class ever haha), and I remember that she had an orange backpack. Fast forward to the summer after freshman year, when I decided I wanted to explore photography more, and asked Misty if she’d be willing to model for me. That was the start of a beautiful friendship Misty has always been extremely supportive, and we always had such a wonderful time sharpening each other’s creativity. Just for fun: a slideshow dating from 2006 on(click to see larger):

I didn’t meet Matt until shortly before they were engaged, but I had heard so many wonderful things about him, and could tell from the way Misty always was glowing when speaking of him that he was something special. Seeing them together is so perfectly sweet and inspiring, and listening to them talk about each other and support each other will bring a smile to anyone’s face. I am so thrilled to see them married and starting a new life together, because I know they are going to do amazing things together.

Their wedding day: absolutely stunning. So totally laid back and relaxed, and full of love. The weather was gorgeous, and everyone involved was just smiling ear to ear all day. The wedding took place in Bee Spring, Ky at Jock United Baptist Church. The little white church was filled to the brim with well wishers, all excited to celebrate with Misty and Matt. Misty and Matt planned everything on their own, and did a wonderful job of making it personal and very “them.” And don’t even get me started on the party…this group definitely knew how to have fun!

But, enough of my ramblings. I am in the kind of mood today where I could go on forever and ever, but I’ll spare you On to some images!

Melting heat, tumultuous thunderstorms, electricity flickering during the ceremony….nothing could stop the smiles, love, and celebration of Kathy and Mike’s wedding day in New Albany, Indiana this weekend! Kathy and Mike are such sweethearts, and we could not be more happy that we were there to share their wedding day with them. So far we’ve had a chance to do a little exploring….including snapping a few pictures at the lovely Centennial Park. Yeah yeah, that’s where everyyyyyyyyone goes to take pictures, but hey, we had to get a little bit of the touristy stuff out of the way

We also explored downtown along Broadway a bit one day, so fun!

Ok, so we’re a little ridiculous and goofy haha. We also went to a show at the Rutledge to hear our friend Jeffrey East open for Jessica Roadcap, super fun! That’s really all the exploring we’ve intentionally done haha…because let’s be honest, it is HOT and HUMID….and I’m a little bit of a wimp. Which I think I’ve managed to work into most conversations….because as it turns out, I’m a little awkward around people I don’t know super well, HA! Who knew? Kidding, kidding. I mean, well, ok I am a little awkward, but we are making tons of fabulous friends so far who don’t seem to care too much I can’t thank our new photographer friends (and old photographer friends!) enough for making us feel so welcome You all are awesome!

We have had lots of adventures so far though! About a week and a half after we moved in (and after I had already commented on how many wrecks we had seen on Old Hickory Blvd.), we were rear ended at a stoplight. Thank God, no one was badly hurt. It probably should have been way worse than it was! From the picture…you also would probably think the damage wasn’t even that much haha, but turns out it was. We finally found out this week that the insurance company was going to consider it totaled and were able to get a new (to us!) car. Good times!

Another thing we LOVE about Nashville? Frozen yogurt. O.M.G. Menchie’s in Lenox Village is my drug of choice (it’s closest to our house), but Sweet Cece’s is pretty awesome too! We’ve been here long enough to develop an addiction, then have to break the addiction so we wouldn’t break our budget haha.

In photography news….we have booked our first Nashville area wedding! We will be shooting Kristi and Eric’s wedding in October at the gorgeous CJ’s Off the Square in Franklin! We visited CJ’s last week and are pretty much in love…such a gorgeous venue! And it is run by some of the most fabulous women ever We are working on getting to know more of the awesome vendors around the area also. Lots of love to go around in the Nashville wedding market!

Speaking of Nashville weddings…a few weeks ago I got to second shoot for Jamie Clayton, a super fun up and coming Nashville photographer! The wedding was at Christ the King in Nashville, which was just gorgeous! Once the couple sees all their images, I will hopefully be able to share a few Get excited!

So pretty much, we love it here I feel like this is turning into pretty much a post about nothing, but I really appreciate you taking the time to take a glimpse into our lives. I’m not gonna lie…it hasn’t been the easiest month of our life. But as our new friend Jonathan Campbell keeps reminding us…it’s ok to be scared. And it’s ok to go after your dreams. And if making it through hard times and being a little scared is going to make us stronger, then we’re well on our way Hehe. It’s so hard to believe that August 1 will be two years we’ve been married, and September 1 will be the second year of the existence of Jennifer Creed | Photographer, and that this is the THIRD year of my life as a wedding photographer! Crazy!

My challenge to you today is to get out and do something that will advance your dream….no matter what it may be Happy Monday everyone, and happy dreaming!

Everything about Tiffany and Mark’s wedding had their personal touch. Their ceremony and reception took place at their family farm, and the girls got ready in their newly renovated (and gorgeous!) house. The flowers and decor worked beautifully with the nature that was already there, and the girl’s bouquets were seriously some of my favorites of all time! (Sherry Embry at Floral Expressions in Clarksville is pretty much a genius!)

It really was a good thing Tiffany and Mark’s wedding took place outdoors, because the smile that lit up Tiffany’s face all day might have just been too bright to be contained indoors Sounds super cheesy, but seriously They both were so incredibly happy and relaxed all day, and it was such a beautiful celebration of their love. Every single person in attendance radiated love and caring for Tiffany and Mark.

This wedding was a photographer’s dream….I was like a kid in a candy shop all day Stunning couple, dreamy details, and lots of love…the perfect combination! So without further ado, here are some favorites!

We have been in Nashville almost two weeks now, and I have to say that I just absolutely LOVE it! (Especially since today it’s cooled down a little and not quite hit 90 yet haha ) In two weeks we’ve already hit up a show at The Rutledge, had pancakes at the Pancake Pantry, hung out with super awesome photographers at SMUG and various lunch dates, explored beautiful Centennial Park, redesigned the website, and are in the process of booking our first Nashville wedding! Woo hoo!  We still have lots of places we want to explore, and lots more people we want to meet and get to know, but we are definitely loving it so far!

So, to celebrate the awesomeness of being in a new city, we have something super fun to offer our potential Nashville brides and grooms! Why would we want to have an engagement session, you ask? Well, I’ll tell you!

A.) You are fabulous, and totally deserve to have tons of pictures documenting this time in your life. Umm…we won’t talk about how many pictures there are of us in our apartment (between engagement and wedding photos…hehe).  And, we are all about creating images that are more like art that you happen to be in, instead of “hey here’s my face, huge on the wall!”

B.) Wedding photos of course are FABULOUS, but it’s also way fun to have pictures of you that are you in your regular clothes, in locations that are important to your relationship (maybe the site of your first kiss, or where he proposed!)

C.) Photo guest books, anyone?!

D.) In the midst of the stress of wedding planning, engagement sessions can be a sweet time to just focus on each other. They are super low stress, and you get to spends lots of time hugging and kissing and just being in love, while we happen to be there to capture it

Engagement sessions are seriously my favorite thing to shoot. It’s such an exciting time in your life, and it is so fun for us to get to know you before the wedding! It allows portrait time to go much smoother during the wedding. I love hearing about how you met, your love story, and plans for your wedding. I love to see the look in your eyes as you realize again that “That is the person I get to spend the rest of my life with.”

When I got my “office” space set up in our new apartment, I put one of our engagement photos on my desk. And every day, I look at it and remember what an exciting time it was and how in love we were then, and how much more we are in love now, two years later So many things have changed in the last two years, but I’m still thrilled to pieces to be living life side by side with my best friend. And that’s what it’s all about

Paul and Sara’s wedding day was PERFECT! A tad bit warm, but the most gorgeous skies you’ve ever seen in your life! And one of the most personalized ceremonies I think we’ve ever been to.  Dr. Hopper read letters that Paul and Sara had written to each other about why they love each other (they hadn’t seen each other’s yet)…talk about open up the waterworks! The passion and love these two share is just incredible and beautiful and inspiring.

Trying to narrow down some favorite images for a blog post was nearly impossible. We had extra time to shoot with the two of them after the reception (A-mazing!), so I have so many favorites! There will probably be less behind the scenes pre-ceremony images than usual to make room for some other awesomeness Enjoy!
