Kentucky Weddings | Tiffany & Mark | Married!

I am so excited to finally share Tiffany and Mark’s GORGEOUS southern wedding with you all!

Everything about Tiffany and Mark’s wedding had their personal touch. Their ceremony and reception took place at their family farm, and the girls got ready in their newly renovated (and gorgeous!) house. The flowers and decor worked beautifully with the nature that was already there, and the girl’s bouquets were seriously some of my favorites of all time! (Sherry Embry at Floral Expressions in Clarksville is pretty much a genius!)

It really was a good thing Tiffany and Mark’s wedding took place outdoors, because the smile that lit up Tiffany’s face all day might have just been too bright to be contained indoors Sounds super cheesy, but seriously They both were so incredibly happy and relaxed all day, and it was such a beautiful celebration of their love. Every single person in attendance radiated love and caring for Tiffany and Mark.

This wedding was a photographer’s dream….I was like a kid in a candy shop all day Stunning couple, dreamy details, and lots of love…the perfect combination! So without further ado, here are some favorites!

Paul+Sara | Bowling Green, KY Wedding

The only thing better than tearing up as a bride sees her groom for the first time on their wedding day, is when it’s your best friend. The best friend you’ve laughed and cried and planned with since the moment he dropped down on one knee in front of her over a year ago. Paul and Sara’s wedding day was such an amazing celebration, and to say we were honored to be there would be an understatement Some photographers hate shooting for good friends, but I have to say I wouldn’t have had it any other way! Paul was there the day Chris first asked me out (actually a funny story…ask us sometime hehe). We were there with cameras the day Paul proposed to Sara. And we were there for their wedding, and hopefully many more major events to come

Paul and Sara’s wedding day was PERFECT! A tad bit warm, but the most gorgeous skies you’ve ever seen in your life! And one of the most personalized ceremonies I think we’ve ever been to. Dr. Hopper read letters that Paul and Sara had written to each other about why they love each other (they hadn’t seen each other’s yet)…talk about open up the waterworks! The passion and love these two share is just incredible and beautiful and inspiring.

Trying to narrow down some favorite images for a blog post was nearly impossible. We had extra time to shoot with the two of them after the reception (A-mazing!), so I have so many favorites! There will probably be less behind the scenes pre-ceremony images than usual to make room for some other awesomeness Enjoy!

So, (do I start every blog post with that? Seems like I do…oops) this post could also be titled “One of the many reasons I am a photographer.” Is it because I LOVE to create art based on people’s love? Yes. Because I love witnessing the start to a lifetime together? Yes. But Katie and Matt’s wedding was so much more than that. Katie and I have been friends since 2005, when we worked at Aldersgate together. She has always been an amazing inspiration to me through her kindness, her love for Christ and others, her creativity, and just all around awesome-ness. Our freshman year of college, we would go on photo taking expeditions around campus, and she would say how she could see me making it a career, and how some day she wanted me to shoot her wedding. Funny how things work out

Even with the torrential downpour on Saturday, everything was absolutely perfect. There could not have been a better couple to have to deal with unexpected weather on an originally outdoor wedding! Completely low stress to move it indoors All of their details were very natured and outdoors centered, and everyone in the wedding party was wearing Chaco sandals (so fun!). Katie and Matt were surrounded by family, and friends who have been such a huge part of their lives. Their celebration took place at Camp Loucon, where Matt works, and which has played a definite role in their relationship. The whole thing was a work of love, with friends providing music, making the cake, doing hair and make up, providing transportation, the list goes on and on….and is a true testament to how wonderful Katie and Matt are! During the ceremony, they also served communion to every one of their guests as their first act of service as a married couple. It was amazing

I feel like I’m rambling…but it’s just hard to put into words the feeling of love and joy that surrounded their wedding day! So I’ll stop there with the words, and move on to some favorite images…

Tara & Glenn | Lexington Wedding Photographer | The Red Mile

Hello everyone!

Yay for spring and the beginning of wedding season! After a long, cold winter, I was beginning to forget just what it is I love about my job so much. Yesterday definitely reinforced how amazing it is to get to spend a day with a couple who is head over heels in love, and beginning their life together. It is such a beautiful thing!

I just couldn’t wait to share some of the images from Tara and Glenn’s Lexington wedding this weekend! I was an assistant shooter for the wonderful Ian Lozada this weekend, and it was so much fun. We were working with an incredible team who made everything perfect! It was also my first time working with Jackie from Every Last Detail, who is amazing! I can’t say enough about how smoothly everything went all day thanks to her and her team

Tara and Glenn’s wedding was very Lexington…from the church (Calvary Baptist), the reception (the gorgeous round barn and the Red Mile), the UK groom’s cake, UK chocolate favors from My Old Kentucky Chocolates, and just the fabulous southern charm. LOVED it!

We’ve been published! | Kentucky Bride Magazine | Spring 2010

Hello lovely readers!

Once again, it’s been forever since I’ve blogged. Think of it as the calm before the storm….because we have a lot of fun things coming up! Our wedding season officially begins tomorrow, with me second shooting with Ian Lozada Photography (LOVE to shoot with other photographers!), so we will have lots to share soon!

But today I have something else to share! We’ve been published in Jacki Allen’s Kentucky Bride Magazine! Meagan and Chris‘s wedding from last August has been featured in their Real Weddings section, and I am so excited! Kentucky Bride is really doing some amazing things, and headed up by THE classiest of ladies! They are amazing! You really should check out the spring issue, there are some great things in it I particularly loved the different takes on “something blue” for the wedding day, and season inspired table decor. But, here are some pictures from our feature!

Bowling Green Weddings | Kentucky Wedding Photographer

So, it’s for real been a super exciting few weeks around here We have been so blessed! It seriously still blows my mind every day when I wake up and I am EXCITED about my job. Excited to get up and work, and edit, or talk to brides, or research, or even do bookkeeping (ok well let’s not push it on that one but… ). I am so happy that I get to shoot with my husband. I was thinking today about how awesome it is to get to see one of the happiest days in a couple’s life not only through my lens, but also through his. (The images he takes are almost always people’s favorites!) And it’s so wonderful and such a blessing to be reminded of our own vows every time we shoot a wedding together. I could really go on forever right now about how wonderful he is (I am super sappy today haha…must be Valentine’s day closing in…), but I’ll stop there.

So on to some exciting news! First, our official WeddingWire badge is in, which means we are one of the top 5% of vendors on the WeddingWire network. We were the only photographer in the Bowling Green/Paducah area to receive this award, and one of only 11 photographers in the whole state!

Second, today we had a wedding featured on the OneWed Bridal Blog! OneWed is a fantastic source for ideas for your wedding day, and we were so excited when they wanted to feature Allie and Ian’s wedding! We also had a super sweet write up on us on the Sloan Images University blog last week, which totally moved me to happy tears

We also have some WONDERFUL brides for 2010…I cannot wait to work with them! And with Valentine’s Day coming up…if you find yourself with something new and shiny on your left hand, we would love to talk to you

Michelle and Pedro are married! | The Grand, New Albany, IN

12-31-09. New Years eve. Everyone is out partying, watching the ball drop at midnight, and sharing a kiss with their love. But not me…I had food poisoning! But…January 1, 2010 dawned bright and gorgeous (though it was cold!), and I was feeling better and ready to go celebrate Michelle and Pedro’s marriage in New Albany, Indiana!

Their wedding was at The Grand theatre in New Albany, IN (which doesn’t appear to have a website, but you can Google it!), which is a really awesome, gorgeous venue! They had a very small wedding party (one bridesmaid and one groomsman), which made for such a beautiful and intimate ceremony. Michelle’s bridesmaid was her sister, Jennifer, and it was wonderful hanging out with them and their sweet mom all morning! They are such a close family, and it was so beautiful to see and capture

Michelle also did a fantastic job of scouting out some locations for us to take pictures after the reception! It was so much fun! So, here are some favorites

Georgetown, Ky Weddings | Katie and Aaron

Everyone ready for a new wedding share? Well you’re in luck! I’m sitting here watching the snow swirl around in amounts I haven’t seen in years, and decided everyone could use some warm fuzzies from some wedding pictures

Katie and Aaron were such a wonderful, loving, Christ centered couple to work with. I have known Katie since high school, and she has always just had this beautiful “joie de vivre” about her. But once we started talking about her wedding, and her love for Aaron, (and always, more importantly, her love for her God), she became a million times brighter, and has consistently blown me away with her Joy. They are SO in love with each other…even looking at their Facebook pages brings huge amounts of encouragement to my life!

This was such an emotional wedding for us to capture! Aaron is in the Army, and much of their time the last few years has been spent apart, including a stint in the middle east. Seeing everyone come together to celebrate their love was so overwhelmingly beautiful!

We also had an absolute blast with everyone The girls were dancing around the salon (the beautiful Colonial House of Beauty in Georgetown) all morning, while the guys consumed (what appeared to be from Chris’s pictures) mass amounts of food as they were getting ready haha. After the ceremony, we drove out to the Kentucky Horse Park area for some super fun pictures. And the reception, with dj Jeff Gibson of Sound Travels was so fun! As Katie and Aaron left, it even snowed (the first snow I had seen for the year at that point!) So really all in all just a fabulous day

Katie and Aaron decided to see each other before the ceremony, and their first look was super intense and emotional and beautiful

Katie surprised Aaron by having them sing a duet of Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillet’s song “Lucky.” While Aaron was overseas, this was “their” song. It was so sweet!
