Tonja Rose | The Heart of Me

I’m SO excited!! Ahh! I have been sitting on these images since June, and am so excited to be able to share them with you!

In June, I did a shoot for up and coming country singer/songwriter Tonja Rose. I cannot even tell you what a huge blessing this whole project has been! First, Tonja and her manager Lindsey and their team at Identical Entertainment are just beyond awesome. I could not ask for a sweeter, more genuine group of people to work with! Second, Tonja is just so incredibly talented. Her cd, The Heart of Me, is being released this Thursday, and I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy!

This whole project has been a long time in the making, with loads of prayer, love, and time poured into it, and I am so thrilled to have been able to be a part of it! Tonja, we are all behind you all the way!

I also want to give a huge shout out to Lyndsay Hubbart, who did Tonja’s hair for the shoot, and Kelly Henderson who did Tonja’s makeup. These two are so fabulous, and helped me out so much!

I hope you enjoyed the images, and everyone should head over to Tonja’s website or Myspace and check out her incredible music! I am sure we will definitely be hearing more from her in the future!

Vacation Time!

Sometimes, we all just need a little vacation. Even though I pretty much have the best job on the face of the planet, it was really time to get away from the computer, Bowling Green, and the hum drum of every day life for a little while! It was so wonderful to be able to relax and spend some time with my wonderful husband, who has also been working his tail off this summer with a part time job, shooting with me, and taking three classes. Whew.

We started off with a trip to Atlanta with friends Paul and Sara, to see Braves vs. Phillies:

They won, woo hoo!

Then, after some confusing road trippage and a stop for lunch in Atlanta with the fab Lauren Wright, Chris and I made our way to St. Augustine. Here we have the beautiful Castillo de San Marco. I love history!

So fun! It’s incredible how just a few days away can be so rejuvenating to the soul. A time to reflect, reconnect, and listen to God’s small voice for our lives and our plans. So awe-inspiring to sit on a beach and look at the waves and think about the Creator that made every grain of sand and can control the waves is also the God who brought us together. Peaceful, beautiful :) And now we’re back and refreshed, and I am so excited to get back to work on all things art and business related!

B-E-A-utiful Canvases! | Product Spotlight

Earlier this week we showed you some images about one of our favorite ways to display your images, with our coffeetable albums! And if you recall….I promised a feature on our OTHER favorite :) So…here it is!

I have three words for you…gallery wrapped canvases. Um, GORGEOUS! What is a gallery wrapped canvas, you ask? Well, let me show you!

THIS is a gallery wrap! This is our sample canvas, a beautiful shot of Sarah and Braden. It is a beautiful 2′x3′ canvas, with the image wrapped around a 1.5 inch deep stretcher frame. The image wraps all the way around the edges, so need for a frame!

Check out the gorgeous texture on a canvas from Mandy and Matt’s wedding!

And the incredible texture and detail!

One of the really awesome things about the canvases is that they come completely ready to hang. All the hardware is included and installed, all you have to do is find something to hang it on!

I love them! They have such a clean look, with a modern touch! And, I like to describe them as art for your wall, that you happen to be in haha. Or, as Paul so eloquently put it when he observed the unwrapping of our sample canvas, “When you said canvas picture, I didn’t know you meant you stole something from an art museum!” :) Good times.

Our canvas producer uses only the highest quality of materials. The ink is estimated to have a lifespan of 60  years, and the UV protectant effectively doubles that! Incredible! We are all about providing things to our clients that will last for generations, and that can become beautiful heirlooms. Like our album company, our canvas provider is also Green! NO OBA’s, biodegradeable coatings, and the wood frame comes from USA reforestable farms.Canvases are also available in pretty much every single size you could dream up!

If you just can’t wait to have one of these beautiful pieces from YOUR session, or if you just have questions, feel free to contact us! I hope you are all having a WONDERFUL, beautiful week!

And…bonus! Emily+Chris just sent me some images of what they’ve done with THEIR (2′x3′) canvas and pictures! So exciting :) We so have the best friends and clients ever!

First, just their canvas (and their kitchen table! and their awesome blue wall!)

Emily and Chris next to their canvas, to show some scale! (Notice Emily’s white “I’m going to be a dentist!” coat :) )

And the finished product, with the canvas flanked by two 24×16 prints! I LOVE IT!

Bowling Green Engagement Session | Paul+Sara

Awhile back, Chris and I had the pleasure of taking engagement photos for our wonderful friends, Paul and Sara! You might remember them from our sniper like photo taking skills when Paul proposed to Sara. So fun! Paul and Sara will be getting married in May, and we could not be more excited for them. We hadn’t had a chance to shoot an engagement session since November, so we actually went all out and made it a double session, with some shooting in Lexington, and some in Bowling Green. Be on the lookout for a post later this week about why we love engagement sessions SO much!

And on to our favorites!

We started off at the Arboretum, where Paul+Sara could often be found on a date, relaxing!

Beautiful bride to be and handsome groom to be!

Paul LOVES airplanes, so we arranged to surprise him and take him out to the airport and take a few pictures with the T-6 some of our friends own. His face was priceless when he saw it coming down the taxi way!

I LOVE this. I do not know why :)

So peaceful. This spot was just down the road from Sara’s grandmother’s house, and one of the spots she really wanted to try for a picture. I was so happy with how it turned out!

And last but not least, my favorite! I love the colors and the bright yellow of the National Corvette Museum in the background!

I love engagement sessions! Woo hoo! Have a wonderful day everyone!
