“Not me!” Monday | Therapy for the stressed out blogger!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I did NOT sit and watch my cat shred a Subway sandwich wrapper and make a huge mess because it was funny. Surely I wouldn’t allow him to make a mess when I could have just taken it away. NOT me!

I did NOT ask the husband to go to WalMart and get me SlimFast bars for lunch since we were out, only to totally change my mind and beg for Subway. Nope, surely I am NOT that crazy and demanding!

I am NOT scared to death about possibly substitute teaching for the first time tomorrow. Nope, NOT me! I am always calm, cool, and collected, and would NEVER be intimidated by the idea of a bunch of little kids!

I did NOT just freak out and have a mini panic attack when I found out that the Canon support website said it hadn’t received my camera I shipped off last week. I do NOT treat that thing like a child and have separation anxiety. I am also NOT so in love with how that camera works that I am too much of a snob to use my back up xTi for a session. NOT me!

I did NOT get a teeeensy bit envious of all the beautiful blog layouts and headers and backgrounds on the “Not me! Mondays” list, and wish that I could have a trendy background. NOT me, I would NEVER want to risk my branding for the sake of being cute :) Hehe.

I do NOT get super stressed out every night as soon as my head hits the pillow, thinking about all the things that I need to do that haven’t been done. I do NOT wait until bedtime to freak out about unanswered emails, Facebook posts, etc. I also did NOT get up at like 3 am to write on the Facebook walls of my godparents from California because I felt so guilty about not responding to them yet. NOT me. I ALWAYS answer emails on time, and NEVER worry that I am losing business due to my NOT procrastinating.

Well, that was certainly NOT therapeutic. NO way. And I certainly do NOT hope that NOT ME Mondays catch on in the photography blog-o-sphere because I do NOT enjoy reading them so much!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful week! And, we reached 10,000 hits on the blog this weekend! Thank you all so much for being so wonderful :)

Victory Brass and Friends | Concerts

So, it would appear that it was concert weekend in my little world this past weekend haha. After the benefit concert of Friday night, Chris and I got to attend the Victory Brass and Friends concert at Centenary United Methodist Church in Lexington on Sunday. It was a total fluke, we just randomly went to see my parents this weekend, then found out the concert was going on Sunday night and of course had to stay!

Victory Brass is one of Kentucky’s premier brass ensembles, and every so often performs concerts featuring their Friends in the music world. (Wow…can I be any more articulate with that? Ha! I need to start blogging earlier in the evenings) Sunday’s concert featured many incredible musicians that it was just such an honor to see perform. I especially enjoyed seeing my husband enjoy the concert and become re-inspired by some of the best trumpet players around. Between that and a pretty much perfect performance of Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, it was a good evening for me :) (Fun fact-we “played” that last year or the year before at WKU….and as much as I love our trumpet and horn players, I definitely preferred their version haha).

Anyway, just wanted to share a few favorite photos! If you are in the Lexington area next time these guys put on a concert–go! You won’t regret it!

Scott Heersche and Fred Williams

Chris Bettler-fabulous tuba player, and also happens to be my brother’s trombone instructor! (Sorry about your luck on that, Chris! Just kidding :) )

Brad Kerns (I believe) and Ryan Lehr, who is a graduate of WKU

The inspiring Vince DiMartino

Mark Clodfelter

Tom Hooten-Incredible!

Vince DiMartino and GySgt Doug Burian

So that’s it for tonight! I wish I had a wide shot of everyone playing together, but I was playing lazy photographer and only brought in one lens. Oops. Don’t tell anyone ;-) I hope you all had a happy Monday and have a wonderful week!
